RAP Tax Authorization Election

OFFICAL BALLOT PROPOSITION FOR FAIRVIEW CITY, UTAH

RAP TAX AUTHORIZATION ELECTION

November 7, 2017

Shall Fairview City, Utah, be authorized to impose a 0.1% sales and use tax for recreational facilities and cultural facilities and organizations for the City?

___ For the RAP Tax   ___ Against the RAP Tax

On Aug 8th Fairview City Council approved a measure to send to the voters of Fairview City the opportunity of voting for or against the Recreational, Arts, and Parks (RAP) Tax. The State allows the RAP Tax to fund a broad range of parks, recreational facilities, and art and projects and activities. This tax will come from a 0.10% of sales tax increase within the boundaries of Fairview City. These funds cannot be used to maintain our parks.

The City is requesting arguments for and against this proposition. September 5th is last day a citizen can file a request to prepare an argument for the voter information pamphlet.

Please submit these requests to the City Office either in person or by mail no later than September 5th at 3pm.
