Work Meeting Minutes September 20, 2018
Minutes of Fairview City Council Work Meeting held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the council room located at 85 South State Street, City of Fairview, Sanpete County, State of Utah.
Mayor David Taylor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Council Members present were Cliff Wheeler, Casey Anderson, Kaelyn Sorensen, and Bob St. Jacques, Councilman Mike Jarman was not present due to a recreation conflict. City Recorder Jan Anderson was not present due to a Conference she was attending.
The purpose of the work meeting was to update the City Council on funding changes. Curt Ludvigson from Rural Water came and presented these changes.
There is $1,000,000 grant money for new development on water sources, this is due to the drought. There maybe up to $150,000 available for piping to help with the river crossings, etc. Money for bigger project must have a master plan. The Federal median Household Income is $43,600 which qualifies for a 45% grant, the median adjusted gross income is $40,876. If the City applied for a grant from the State, the water rates would need to be raised $15 a month. There are low interest loans from the Department of Water Resources. Could use impact fees to pay on loans for new growth. The bottom line—now is the time to start projects while there is still money. Curt Ludvigson will need to be put on the agenda for next council meeting. He will prepare a Request for Funding.
The meeting adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
