Public Letter Water Update May 31, 2019

Dear Citizens:

On Friday evening May 24, 2019, a mudslide happened in the lower part of Fairview Canyon. The slide has severed the main spring line transmission line that supplies water to our tank. We are currently running on our two wells.

The State of Utah Water Resource Division has determined there has not been any contamination in the line entering the tank. All of our water test results have come back good.

Our engineering firm is evaluating all possible options in fixing the problem. It will not be a quick fix.

We are asking everyone to conserve your culinary water use. If you have to use any water outside, please do it very sparingly. If you have trees and shrubs water carefully. Please do not use culinary water on your gardens. If you have animals to do not leave your water running during this time period, give some water and then turn it off. We will be monitoring your monthly water usage for overages.

At this time, we have no idea how long this problem will last. More information will follow as it becomes available. Follow our web and Facebook for updates as they become available.

Sincerely

Fairview Mayor and City Council
