Special City Council Meeting Minutes March 11, 2021

Minutes of Fairview City Council Special Meeting and Budget Work Session held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 85 South State Street, City of Fairview, County of Sanpete, State of Utah.

Mayor Cliff Wheeler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. City Council members present were Matt Sorensen, Mike MacKay, Casey Anderson, and Brad Welch. City Recorder Jan Anderson along with Rhett Wilkinson, Shirlene Rasmussen, Monica Hendry, Talon Peterson, and Robert St. Jacques. 

The purpose of the special meeting was to fill the council vacancy left by Cliff Wheeler.

The following people submitted their name for consideration: Monica Hendry, Talon Peterson, Shirlene Rasmussen, and Robert St. Jacques. Each had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the Council. A vote was taken (Monica – 0, Talon Peterson -1, Shirlene Rasmussen – 2, and Robert St. Jacques – 1). Shirlene Rasmussen was swore in as a member of the Fairview City Council. 

At 7:15 p.m., the City Council continued the meeting working and going through the budget for next fiscal year 2021/2022. 

Mayor Cliff Wheeler announced council assignments: 
Brad Welch – Mayor pro-tempore, recreation, and pioneer day celebration
Mike MacKay – Planning Commission, zoning, and the “Focus”
Matt Sorensen – Public works, water, sewer, and roads
Casey Anderson – Power and cemetery
Shirlene Rasmussen – Buildings and grounds
