City Council Minutes December 21, 2017

Minutes of Fairview City Council Meeting held on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at 85 South State Street, City of Fairview, County of Sanpete, State of Utah.

Mayor Jeff Cox called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m. Council Members present were Bawb Nielsen, Cliff Wheeler, Casey Anderson, KaeLyn Sorensen, and Bob St. Jacques. City employees present were Dave Taylor, Jan Anderson, and Garrett Sorensen. Citizens present were Janice Taylor, Matt Sorensen, and Wade Anderson.

City employee Dave Taylor offered the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

No minutes to approve at this meeting.

REPORTS/ACTION ITEMS – BOARDS/COMMITTEES/STAFF/OFFICERS:

Review of Meeting Schedule for 2018. Discussed changing meeting date to the third Thursday. July meeting will be the 12^th because of the 24^th of July schedule. Councilman Bob St. Jacques moved to approve the 2018 meeting schedule which will be every third Thursday, except July will be the second Thursday, the 12^th. Councilwoman KaeLayn Sorensen seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in favor of.

Approve Policy #2018-01, Pay Date Schedule Change. It was proposed to change the pay schedule from the 1^st and the 15^th of each month to biweekly, starting the first of January 2018. The work week starts Monday at 12 a.m. and ends Sunday 11:59 p.m. Timesheets will be turned in Monday giving Tuesday to input the information and submit to the bank so that employee wages will be in their bank account on Wednesday. Approve Policy #2018-02, Owner/Landlord Responsible for Payment of Utility Bill. Starting January 1, 2018, owners/landlords will be responsible for utility bill. Utilities will not be connected until account is current. Councilman Casey Anderson moved to adopt Policy #2018-02. Councilwoman KaeLyn Sorensen seconded the motion.
